Totaled the auto on the way to work this morning. I'm bummed. Thirteen years I had that car.

Awww man, that SUCKS! I'm STILL dealing with the same kind of thing when my vehicle was totaled by floodwaters almost a month ago. Still waiting for the GAP insurance to pay up, and then it's DONE. Glad you're ok, what happened????

Damn, and I thought I had high commuting costs

I think I've mentioned this before, but where I live has ZERO jobs in my field anymore. Add the fact that there is ZERO public transportation from where I live, to where I currently work, and you've got the only solution, drive a lot. Like many others, the American dream has turned into a huge PITA, and doesn't look to be getting much better.

I was driving to work tired from all the work of the week, didn't have a cup of coffee before I left, lost focus for a wee bit, and then the gates of hell opened. Quite crazy that I'm still alive, actually. At least it's only my car that's totaled - if I hadn't jerked the wheel into the other lane to play ping pong with a couple of cars before going headfirst into the concrete barrier, I'd probably be paying hospital bills for the person in front of me. As it was, my doctor was amazed I was walking.

Thank you all for your kind concerns and sentiments.

RIP.

Driving tired sucks, I know I'm guilty of it often (& have been REAL lucky), as is probably anyone who drives. A guy I used to work with literally t-boned a MOVING commuter train at a crossing when he dozed off. He lived, but his car was ripped apart...Again, glad you're ok, and sorry to see you lose a nice vehicle like that :erk:

I would say I'll raise a toast to your car this evening, but it seems so inappropriate somehow to drink to a car... drinking and driving don't mix at all.

Joking aside, Glad to hear you made it out ok. Sounds like it was a pretty bad wreck :( Cheers man, make sure you get your morning coffee!
