Aww..ya'll are making me miss Holland. :(

One of my favorite things about living there was being just 2-3 hours away from both Chicago AND Detroit; made for twice the concert possibilities, as well as big time ease of travel, with GRR, ORD, MDW and DTW to choose from (as well as AZO and LAN to boot). Also, Cleveland is a few hours away for those tours which inexplicably skip Detroit and/or Chicago, and even from eastern MI, Chicago is just a few hours away.

And what other state has Frankenmuth, with good ol Bronner's and its almost-2-football-field sized store full of Christmas crap?

I usually go there once a year around November, after hitting the Birch Run outlet mall and Zender's for some insane chicken mania :)

@Swabs, the city of Holland in the state of Michigan...which is basically "Little Netherlands" here in the States :D You should see the annual Tulip Festival...the wooden shoes are out in full force! Reminds me of a joke...

Q: What's better than roses on a piano?
A: Tulips on my organ

:loco:

So yeah...the 3 show tonight was all kinds of awesome. The opening act, Tub Ring, put on an amazing show. Great live band...listening to some of their stuff on their myspace page now and I'm not digging it, but live they were insane. Unfortunately...I was a bit pissed that the show was advertised to start at 8 and then didn't start until 10. Of course there's nothing I love more than standing around in a dark bar (especially since I'm not 21 until January) for 2 hours:erk:.

Before I get into 3....I must give massive flack to the house crew at the venue. They were the sorriest fucks I've ever seen. I was with my roommate (another musician who also does a lot of live sound work) and we were right in front of the stage and we couldn't help but feel absolutely terrible for 3 having to deal with them. They weren't listening to anything the band was telling them (which could've saved them the 20 minutes it took them to determine that one of the house cables was bad....go figure that when something in the chain isn't working it might be a cable issue *facepalm*). 3's set would've been even better if they didn't need to bitch at the sound guys about the mix 4 or 5 times in the set. Anyway...

3...fucking killer. Best live show I've seen in recent memory, hands down. Great set, great performances. The percussion duel in the middle of the show was quite the jaw-dropper, as was almost all of Joey's playing. They played a new song tonight, which slayed. They definitely racked up quite a few points tonight in my book.

You could feel the tension between the bands and the house crew after the show. Billy got into a bit of a screaming match with one of the guys one they were tearing down the stage and Gartdrumm (drummer) got a bit pissed with the "bouncer" when we were talking to he and Joe Stote (the percussionist) after the show for coming up and kicking us out because of me being under 21. It was an 18+ show and to get into the club/bar section of the building, you actually have to go outside and around the block into a different door. Nevermind that I had those stupid X's drawn on my hands with a permanent fucking marker, or the fact that I was in the middle of a conversation with the band. As gladly as I'd go see them at that venue again, there are MANY venues here in the cities that'd be MUCH better choices.

OMG yes Zender's..that is one freakin' insane meal, to be sure!

What was Bronner's like in November, was it a zoo? I went in early October a couple of years ago, so it wasn't bad at all; not quite close enough to Christmas to be too crazy yet.

That Zender's chicken mascot walking around also cracks me up :) By the time we hit Bronner's, it's usually later in the evening, so it may not be as crowded at that time...but no, it hasn't ever been that bad.

Okay.. why is it so hard to get a job? This past year I've been applying to jobs and getting interviewed but haven't been hired. Now I live alone and I really need a job!!!!!! There are bills to be payed and I don't want my parents to be paying for everything and such.

Also.. hot damn craigslist has some damn amazing deals. I've been searching for a good motorcycle deal and have found a lot of great ones. 2000 Suzuki GSXR 600 @ 10,000 miles is $2500 OBO (keep in mind that this is a $10,000 motorcycle)! I could def talk him down to $2000, but I need some money to pay for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So realistically the only way to get the money for this would be to get a loan, and I def. need to get a job to get a loan.

Any help? How the hell do I get a job damnit. Maybe I should just go work for mcdonalds or some shitty fast food place so I can get hired.

Multiple interviews without any offers could mean you're doing/saying something wrong during the interview. Being qualified on paper typically just gets your foot in the door.

These are terrible times for job seekers. I was laid off a couple of weeks ago, but it was due to my company not realizing they didn't have the financial means or necessary work load for me and other recent new employees. If you can find any kind of job just for the moment to make ends meet, that's alright. In the meantime, you can continue your search. That's what I'm doing right now. Yes, it sucks, but you're not alone.

As I was walking back to my dorm from lunch just now, a group of girls where walking ahead of me right in front of my building. Just then, some asshole blasting really loud rap music smashed into the back of another person in an expensive convertible making a left (He obviously wasn't paying attention), cracking the windshield and shattering the front end of his car. The trouble was, it was his girlfriends Jeep and she was one of the girls walking in that group. She ran up to him and started punching and kicking him and even hit him with the broken off front fender.

Funniest damn thing I have ever seen. I love it when cocksucker assholes get put in their place.
