a rather traditional british ale but with a hint of a more modern american-style citrusy hoppiness -- not bad!

funny story, too: according to swedish law, alcoholic beverages can't (among a million other prohibited things) use war/weapons-type imagery on the labels so they had to change it to this just for sweden

very good thirst ale, does a good job at introducing a peculiar bitterness but lacks just a bit of every of its best features to really slay.

finally laid my hands on a bottle of the reported "best beer in the world". Well, all I can say is it's up there with the Rochefort 10 as best Belgian Trappist, with the old chimney aftertaste nicely overpowering the chocolate. I'll indulge in another bottle for Christmas. Was quite expensive (€10), those monks have such an elitist commercial policy.

I'm trying to detox a bit this month, but last weekend I bought:

Black Cauldron Imperial Stout
Bootlegger's Old World Hefeweizen
Alesmith Evil Dead Red
Smuttynose Homunculus

Never had any of these. Might drink one tonight and fall asleep on the couch by 10pm. FRIDAY NIGHT EXCITEMENT!

I have absolutely no beer in my house and I am waaayy too lazy to drive to the store. Someone bring me some
