Official RC Snobby Beer Purchases Thread

So I don't really know anything about beer (I've previously been forced to drink whatever is bought for me), but Monday is the 21st anniversary of my birth, and i wanna make a decent purchase. Please gimme some recommendations. Not a big fan of IPA's i think. I dig lagers. I liked Swizzles beer at HC3.

if you wanna be a cool organic hippie like me you should definitely get some Wolaver's. they have a few different types, no IPAs. i would recommend otter creek perhaps (the mother company), the copper ale, for someone who is trying to broaden their tastes. good luck and happy birthday.... 4 months for me!

Dude Ken, this Smuttynose IPA is fucking awesome! I can't even imagine what a fresh one tastes like (probably more hop flavour)!

Furious is still better.

I still have yet to try any beer that's not available at my local 7-Eleven.
WTF's the big deal about all this snobbyness? How does one come across these beverages?

^ not in my opinion. Ill stick the the original. Oaked ruins it bigtime. Way too oaky.

I cant believe you scored a Kentucky Bourbon Stout you motherufcker./

Also, like 1 out of every 5 stone ipa I have is ridiculously soapy. Ive drainpoured a few of them fuckers.

I can go buy more, there were 5 more 4 packs. Trade?

I got some Furious a week ago too.

That nice Kroger's on North MacArthur has a pretty impressive selection of obscure brews. World Market, Central Market, & Whole Foods are other good places around here to check.

Once you're of age you will need to go to The Gingerman in Dallas or Fort Worth, and the fuckin' Meridian Room! :kickass:
Oh and The Flying Saucer.

i can get kentucky round here, but i think i missed the boat on em tbh. i dont rush out like i used to. fuck that.

the only issue i have with trading is the ridiculous amount for shipping, combined with the ridiulous cost of the beer. its out of control/

Sprecher Brewery sells their big beers in Liter bottles, for 15 bucks... I just checked the BA for them, and they have terrible reviews. I'm glad I didn't take a chance.
