Official RC Snobby Beer Purchases Thread

well on tap it goes good with sushi. i wouldnt buy it at the store, but i dunno what they got over there so i suggested it. i dont think the japs like the heavier and hoppier shit.

Orval (if it is what I'm thinking of) is pretty damn tasty.

I got a bunch of cheap 500ml cans of strong beer randomly for consumption this evening. I don't expect it to be good, but maybe I'll be surprised.

First up is Boris Bold.

First impression: A completely average strong lager.

Orval is awesome, just ask Elestin ;).

That'd really suck to only drink piss lagers all the time. I need my hoppy beers.

Amazingly, I actually found some traquair jacobite in Utah... strangely enough, it was in the wine store. I bought many bottles.

Last time I had it, I had to get some dude from scotland to send it to me. I am very pleased. One of the most flavorful ales I've ever had.

Also on the menu for tonight, some rochefort 8's that I've had aging for about a year. I've heard the 8 really benefits from a nice aging, guess we'll see.

Weird that it's hard to buy Traquair Jacobite in Scotland. It's all over. I see it in almost every liquor store that has craft beer. I guess Utah sucks. Wee heavies do indeed rule. Other scottish ales are pretty lame, imo.

Drinking my Arrogant Bastard atm. Ace brew.

My friend introduced me to a new beer store yesterday, the selection was staggering. The probably had 300-400 different belgian ales alone. I picked up:

Trappistes Rochefort 10
La Fin Du Monde
Trois Pistoles
Rogue Brutal Bitter
Stone Ruination IPA
