Official RC Snobby Beer Purchases Thread

For the meat party. Threw out one pack of PBR (as in put it in the fridge for anyone to drink) and replaced it with a six pack of both of these.

-Shiner Smokehaus Sommer Bier
-Rahr Ugly Pug Black Lager

The Smokehaus is new...should be interesting, tis made with mesquite smoked pale malt. I'm hoping it will go well with the MEAT. I was really impressed with World Market today. They had Dogfish Head in more varieties than I've ever seen. Had a 4 pack of 90 Minute IPA in my basket til I actually looked at the price heheh.

Yea I'm drinking the Mojo right now and it's an average IPA. I was dying for a beer and wanted to try something new (that was in the cooler at the store) right when I got home.

I bought a twelver of PBR the other day. In fact I'm drinking one right now. That is because I AM A BAD ASS.

Not to worry though, fellow beer snobs, I had a $9 Maredsous 10 the other night at dinner.

Ommegang- Three Philosophers Quadrupel
Heavy Seas- Red Sky at Night Ale
Heavy Seas- Loose Cannon Hop3 Ale
Sierra Nevada- Southern Hemisphere Harvest Ale

Mikkeller Simcoe Single Hop IPA
Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast
Laughing Dog Devil Dog
Green Flash Double Stout
Green Flash Imperial India Pale Ale
Long Trail Double IPA

Sam Adams Imperial White has an excellent flavor, delectable smell, and to top it off it really kicks your ass in with it's 10.3 power. However, there is a design flaw. Imagine drinking a cup of maple syrup.

As a one off, it's most excellent, but in terms of drinkability... you're going to have to space it out with other beers.

Local 1
Scaldis

-Edit-

So, Scaldis is one of the most amazing Belgian Ales I've had and is one of many reasons why Belgian ales are becoming my variety of choice. For 12% abv it was absolutely tasty and didn't have an overly-ethanol based nose to it. for 12 oz it was very layered as well. I recommend it! As for the local one, it was pretty typical.
