Oh fuxor.

I would get an Ibanez if there wasnt a pick-up in the middle, I hate that.

Due to the fact that I have never EVER adjusted the truss rod on my guitar's neck, EVER, and the fact that I have often switched between using .8s and .11s, a piece of the nut has broken off not only insuring that it won't stay in tune, but also making the low e string shift out of place. FUX. Looks like i'll DEFINITELY be picking up an Ibanez after Christmas. =p

Just get a new nut, and quit fucking up your guitar.

No, I want a new guitar. =P

Just shit that I can't really play until it gets fixed. Either way, I want a locking tremolo so this is a perfect excuse.

Btw, if you keep hitting your middle pickup, just lower it! Single coils are awesome, as long as they don't buzz.. If I get an RG with the hum-sing-hum configuration i'll probably end up getting a DiMarzio YJM for the middle. =D

Well, it depends on what sound you want to get out of it. I highly suggest EMG-85s for nice lows or 81s for nice highs. I think there are 65s too, but I'm not sure of the characteristics of those pickups. Personally, I prefer an EMG 81/81 setup and leave the middle pickup slot empty. Also if you're going with EMGs, I would wait until you can afford an entire set of active pickups or else you will have to add additional components to the impedance matches that of the passive ones, or completely deactivate them from the circuit and I'm sure you don't want to play only with a neck pickup and I don't highly recommend the EMG passive pickups, they cost too much for what you get out of them compared to the active ones.

Yeah, i have been thinking of leaving the neck and just have 2 EMG 81s...

And guess who's the lucky bird that gets to be dragged around from shop to shop in order for you to do that? ;) tsk...

And who's the lucky bloke that has to go with you to clothes shops so you can try one thing on, decide you don't like it, pick something else, REPEAT, etc? ME WAHHH!! =(

Hmmm, I dunno if I can find the vid again but some people take the DiMarzio ToneZone and put it on the neck instead of the bridge position. It's a very high output pickup made for the bridge position but, when put in hte neck position, gives a really smooth sound but you gotta be able to play clean or else you will make it sound like shit.

I'll try to find the vid.
