Oh yeah...less than 75 tickets remain..

UPDATE: Less than 20 tickets remain for Friday night!

I personally think Saturday night is a much stronger night than Friday...

My personal standard is "sell-out." If that is not your goal as a promoter, then you need to get your ass out of the business.

Wow, I don't want to start an argument in THIS thread.
You make me want to start a whole new thread to discuss.

I would say there are MANY MANY other MAJOR factors why I would consider your festival to be a success, and sell out or no sell out would not be one of them.

As I said, I won't go into all my thoughts on this as I don't want to divert from the topic of this thread. Let me know though if you want to discuss this.

Anyhow, great job on the advance sales for this year.
It's a great line up.

Interesting. I would have guessed HammerFall would have been able to close the deal on Saturday.

Kamelot have taken a personal interest in the festival and helped promote their appearance for months via facebook, emails, Kamelot forum, etc.

It took me 7 months to even get the date listed on the Hammerfall website despite repeat emails.

I said goal, not measurement.

Thanks for the kind words on the roster.

Glenn,
True, you did say your "Goal" I think I stopped reading after your use of the word standard.

As an armchair fan of your fest, the appeal to me is the new talent as well as existing talent you exposed to US audiences live for the first time. Furthermore, then seeing those bands make it even bigger in the States.

Interesting. During my interview with Oscar, he seemed very interested in growing the U.S. market. I would have expected management to have the same goals and been a bit more engaged.

PPUSA regulars could probably argue about the strengths of each night (scratch the "probably", this forum can and will argue about anything  ), but Friday looks a lot more marketable for drawing single-day sales. On Saturday, Hammerfall is the only band that has ever played in the US and has a reasonable base of fans - outside of the people who already know about PPUSA - to draw from. Friday has Kamelot, Tyr, Leaves Eyes, and Blackguard.

It seems like it would be a lot easier to convince someone to drop $60 on a concert ticket when half of the roster is a known quantity to them, than when only the headliner is a known quantity. Had Turisas not dropped, I'd guess that Friday would've been sold out a few weeks ago.

I think this is a valid observation. While exclusive, US-debut performances are golden to those of us on the Forum, for wider ticket-sales, there's nothing quite like a previous live experience with a band to "seal the deal" ticket-wise.

Agreed.

I pretty much agree with this. However, I would think at least some Nighwish fans would be aware of Tarot.

UPDATE: Only 6 tickets remain! Yes, we are 6 tickets away from selling-out Friday night and 2 day passes. Saturday only passes will still be available after these 6 are sold.
