OK, Here is a question lets be civil. Should we destroy Iran??

I bet if America said to Scotland, "hey we'll help you kill the English" youd be happy! I remember the best way to make friends as an American in a Scottish bar was to say "I hate the British!" And I would drink for free!! Then the scottish girls..well..mm

 It's all in good humour though!

I have my reservations regarding America as a nation and its approach to foreign policy BUT the vast majority of you fine folks are just decent guys and girls who work to feed their families and enjoy a few beers at a metal show now and again, I have zero beef with the ordinary American...I only ask that sometimes you all realise, America does not always know whats best...if you get me. Anyways, the middle east is a fucking mess - I just dont know what the best way to go about remedying much of the situation is.

feck it, take care.

Exactly. I have been saying that Iran is the place that we should have been in all along. The problem now is the U.S. military is already spread so thin. How would we manage three wars? That is why the Iranian government is provoking the U.S. because they realize that our military is not at it's strongest and they see America as being vulnerable because of it. A simple bomb is not going to solve the problem either, it would make it worse. It's unfortunate because I know I would like to see America continue our "nuclear research" on those assholes.

The middle eastern countries are all using this cartoon hysteria to their advantage and increasing the outrage by helping the muslims stage their protests. Syria has a tight grip on it's people and Iran has an even tighter grip on their people. Have they stopped any of these protests or denounced any of the violence stemming from them? No, they give them a platform and media coverage which will incite more muslims around the globe to become even more violent and murderous. The one thing we all know about these muslim assholes is that they love being on tv! Give them a camera and they will magically produce an American flag along with a lighter and some lighter fluid. They are pretty much the equivalent of a middle-eastern Jerry Springer and want to fight anyone who speaks against them or their religion. They are so hypocritical it makes me sick. It's a fucking shame that Dubya didn't ask me who we should have went to war with in the beginning:loco:

We are in a serious quandary now and I am not sure that going to war with Iran would be the smartest thing to do. I agree that we need to take care of them but I am just not sure how we can do it without our soldiers getting totally clusterfucked over there.

Maybe so, but I'm not so sure Scotland even needs a foreign policy. We may appear all knowing and all powerful, but America certainly is a better choice than Scotland as protector and defender of the free world. The grass is always greener...would another nation do a better job, or even have the ability...I don't think so...certainly not Scotland. Stick to single malts...you certainly are the champions of whiskey!

fifty years?? it was only 20 some years ago the Shah was in control and he was our pal. just like not so long ago, Saddam was our pal.

rumsfeld, saddam prepare some butt lube for their mutual pleasure
Rumsfeld-hussein.jpg

Oil is our pal...oil and money.

I don't necessarily always agree with our foreign policy, nor do I necessarily support fools in power and the corruption and hypocrisy of it all...but I support this great nation and the ideals and values that still lie deep within the core of its tattered shell.

C'mon don't patronise! (Our whisky is amazing, though)

My main objection is that America is founded on a good idea, and most of you have the best intentions at heart (although some of us do resent the patronising attitude) sometimes your politicians and government do things out of greed rather than benevolence...even the most patriotic American can admit the leadership often leaves alot to be desired. Again, I'm not saying the UK is better. I only say that we are all folks of this one planet, and our time here is so irrelevant compared to the life of the planet.

America is a fine nation, of course...but sometimes the blind patriotism can lead to the support of bastard leaders and awful causes. I reiterate, I find most Americans to be decent people...I only say that sometimes some folks need to realise the great ideas at the core of their nation that they so agressively defend are being screwed around.

I totally agree.

It is a totally corrupt system on both sides and it needs a major overhaul.

Schenk, was right though, your whiskys are amazing!!!:loco:

Ok. Governments suck. Politicians suck. Fuck all and then some.
Still, You gotta be realist.
Nowadays it´s trendy to be ultra-liberal, back to the land peace-lover.
Suddenly we have thousands of selfmade Bonos for example here in Finland, who say that America stinks, Cops are bastards and milk and gas cost too much.
Celebrities are specialists at this; when you live in the ivory tower, it´s easy to scream justice for criminal foreigners, Muslims, vandals and cockroaches.
To a street person all this is not that simple.

What I´m trying to say is that I like bubble gum. I like baywatch girls with huge boobs.
I like american hard core.
I like american bulldogs among other breeds.
I like american people as much as I´ve met them. Polite.
I drink coca cola.

We all watch american movies and tv in general, because we don´t want to eat raw meat, drive lada, and watch incredibly unentertaining movies from eastern Europe telling a story of old man´s dog and cat 3½ hours.

Sure all that world-policing is bad.
But we gladly embrace all the good things coming out of that country, so why not give guys a brake.
If Iran takes over, I might have to chew my bubble gum more than once.

Newsflash...I never said it wasn't.

I am saying to blindly let ELECTED officials do what they please is rather stupid.

I also never said that I would want to live anywhere other than America.

The preach more hate than any other country. They need a government change I think..they were cool with us back in the day. Hell at my uncles this weekend I saw a picture of him with the old Shah of Iran, they used to live there in the late 60's.

but for more on Iran..look at this

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,184672,00.html

In this link two points are made: firstly that Iran believes Israel was behind getting the cartoons of Muhammed printed, deliberately to inflame Muslims (no doubt with the additional help of agent provocateurs posing as angry Muslims and handing out placards).

Why would Iran think Israel would want to do this? In order to drum up support for a war on Iran.

The second point that was made was that they felt an appropriate response to these Israeli commissioned cartoons would be to offend what Iranians hold to be the religion of the West. Christianity? No way! The "holocaust", what else?!

And true to form, the American reaction to the thought of such blasphemous cartoons being drawn is to call for the destruction of Iran!
How is that any less of a gross over reaction than Muslims calling for the destruction of Denmark?
