OK, please help me solve a stupid argument

At the risk of sounding a fool...How the hell DO you pronounce 'Anathema'? It's an ongoing debate between me and a friend and we're both convinced we're right.

It's the american pronounciation like.

I think both 'a-nath-e-ma' and 'anna-thema' can be considered correct. Differant accents lend to various pronounciations. Like epoch can be 'epic' or 'e-pock' and Moonspell can be 'moonspell' or 'poonsmell'.

Yeah that's the way I always said it, but it seems that even here there are different opinions! Ah well...

Well, i mean my linguistic abillities aren't that good, but what i imagine from courses i don't think it could be pronounced in another way, but who knows.
