I would rather put on the kilt & blue/gold face paint and join in on the
Wall of Death at the LoG gig.

Getting Tore Ostby on stage with Jorn for a few Ark songs would be nice, but I don't know if I would consider it a, "once in a lifetime" event.
Getting the Dio-era Black Sabbath lineup together for one last night of dark magic would be the ultimate insane suprise (and ego-tistically impossible and something for another ProgPower - which would sell out in one day, guaranteed!!!).
With Toni Iommi regretting the fact that Ozzy cant get his stuff together for another Sabbath disc (or even the occassional planned Ozzfest gig), I'd love to see him hook up with Dio or Tony Martin for a new Sabbath disc, or at minimum a few reunion shows. Hopefully old age can help weaken those egos. But more likely, the prospect of a returning to repectable sales and tours would help these guys put their differences aside even though they may still simmer. A "Modus Vivendi" if you will. It seems to have worked for Bruce and Steve of Maiden. I don't think they get along all that well still, but they realize that they are more successful together than they are apart. I think the same can be said about Dio and Iommi (Sabbath). It's a business and does not need to be a love-fest. Bury the hatchet and let the past be the past - nothing is going to chage it, but you can always change your outlook and attitudes today and tomorrow. No change = no play = no pay.

Harvester said:I love the post that referred to selling only to the true fans instead of the 50 jerks that were there for the headliner only. If that's the case, then I shouldn't have to worry about getting my ass kicked on the floor by some drunken idiot mosher.

I fully intended to ignore the ignorant assed post you refer to, but it's nice to know the promoter considers those of us who haven't bought tickets to be jerks. .......But when it actually doesn't appeal enough for some to be excited about it they're jerks for not buying a ticket. Cool. Thanks.

Whoa...whoa..whoa...
I was referring specifcially to the drunken moshers that aren't coming because I don't have the big power band, specifically the instance that happened last year during Stratovarius. That guy was there for one band and to have his own type of fun during it (no problem except that he was an obnoxious, drunken asshole). I was not referring in any way what so ever to those aren't coming because they don't like the lineup. You have my apologies for the misunderstanding.
I understand completely that you are treating the fest essentially like any other local show in Atlanta with specific bands you want to see instead of a festival atmosphere with the friend/family vibe & maybe seeing if a band can win you over. I honestly have no reason to believe I will change your mind this year and totally respect that. I'm confident that you will be back one year.
As for what I'm planning, it will not be announced in advance of the show.

V and VI.
The attraction for me at V was Kamelot and Edguy, and Vi it was Angra and Stratovarius.
THere's really not much for a power metal fan here, with the top power metal band being a #3 slot.
Yep, that'll do it
Eh, not yet. I'm digging it more than the 1st one but it's still not something that can get me to start saving up for an Atlanta trip.
