In addition is the cabinet you are using a v30 loaded cab? If your using the MESA / Recto cab then its not looks for the v30 loaded one (not sure if thats standard or platinum )

well i have the treadplate model cab, is there a v30 one? tbh i never looked but if there is i can imagine that would sound better already

mine's DI > Toneport > Gate > Ampsim (right now it's VandalAmp, but it's the kind'a the same 5kz problem on all of them) + LeCab > Guitars Bus > Master.

i'll revert to the c4 thing, used to do that, but then got excited about voxengo harmonic exciter but that led to a lot more noise... anyways....

Seriously spend the cash on recab. The Ghandi 4x12 is the go to metal cab imho. Karzog and his team did an AMAZING job! I use it instead of the podfarm cabs ALL THE TIME!

Well the Guitar chain is pretty simple

Guitar > DI > Interface ... if you don't have a DI you can go straight to interface, wont make a HUGE difference.

From there load up Pod Farm with the Cali Diamond (I assume thats what your using) bypass the cabs get LePou LeCab and get some free impulses if you cant spend the $15 on Re-cabinet

There is a thread on the forum with just about everything every created listed. I think its in the "equipment" forum. Its stickie'd, take a look at it for tons of cool free and paid shit!

PodFarm (with no Cab)>LeCab>Bus>Master

I just put a high/low pass on the guitars on the channel before the bus and be done with them. Dont over complicate! I only use EQ's and Comps if i absolutely need them.

The benefit of using Pod Farm is you can change your tone to fix the mix later. Its better to fix it on the amp / cab / sim then to use EQ's.

Rule #1 - Shit in shit out
Rule #2 - If your boosting or cutting anything more then 2 or 3 DB its SHIT find a better tone. (this doesn't include high / low pass) / Re-Record it!

Ill post some pics when I get home tonight of my chain and the bussing. I don't got the best tones on this forum for sure, but i think they are clean.

Oh and rule #3 ....

If it doesn't sound good when tracking, no matter what you do it wont sound good later!

Here it is that exact project I linked earlier. Notice the guitar channels have nothing on them and the guitar buss only has a high / low pass

No compression, no C4, no filler.

iv managed to get a hold of lepous lecab and some of the "awesome" impulses

i also though about giving the soloc an 8505 AND 7170 a shot

anything you'd recommend out of them over podfarm?

Anything based on the Engl or 5150 is really what I love so the 8505 / 7170 is the shit.

Like mentioned above, get the performance right first and then try dipping some low mids a bit. You will have to sweep them a bit to find out what freq to cut because different tunings and players end up with different freq that need cutting.

Not sure if you noticed but your guitars are out of tune.

that's exactly what i was telling this guy in pm's.
except for dipping the mids

Performance is really important, if you have tight guitars and nice chugs
it will sound punchy not just because you have some rad settings on there. This can go both ways haha

this is my newest attempt using impulses and the 7170

for some reason when i take podfarms cab off and use lepou it makes it really quiet. any ideas?
