I doubt their popularity has anything to do with this song; they actually have two previous albums and some EPs. I think they are just trying to be funny with those lyrics. I dig the idea of grabbing nonsense for lyrics just for shits and giggles. The music is super meh but at least the mix is great.

Lordi was(/is?) mostly popular among 10 year old kids who need a transitionband to heavier music.
And we finns seem to like humor in our music. Just search for "batman & ryydman".
Nah, they started back in 2008 and their early material was killer. Their somewhat of a success album The Bree-Teenz came out in 2011 through Spinefarm Records.

Quite honestly, I've never heard of any of those bands, except for this one and this is the second time ever. I might be out of the core scene, though. Except for surmacore.

Metalcore isn't ultra popular in here so can't blame ya.
There's a lot of smaller metalcore bands that blow my mind but for some reason can't attract even moderate fame.
Artificial Heart will open up for Parkway Drive @ The Circus in November.
