Opeth Aussie tour stuff

Just read this on the opeth site:

Finally, here are some news regarding the upcoming tour.
In the middle of April, Opeth are going to appear in Australia.
As soon as the tour plan has been confirmed, it will be published here.



Anyone get the latest Opeth disc? Whats it like?

The newest CD is heavy... heavier than BWP... nice soft parts too... but I don't like it more than Still Life... I think the guitars are too far back in the mix... amazing drumming though... I can't wait to see the guy live...

I'll be going to the Adelaide show if there is one.

They said the same kind of stuff a year ago. I'll believe it when it's all confirmed! I'd love to see them live. Haven't got the new album yet, but my favourite's still My Arms, Your Hearse.

I don't think Opeth has done anything special since My Arms, Your Hearse. And they'll never top Morningrise for pure brilliance.

From what I've heard of them, they sound good, but not the genius that everyone makes them out to be. Maybe I should try get into them a little before they tour..

Deliverance is better than BWP I think too but they haven't really done anything radically new in their sound since MAYH. Which is probably why people, like Spiffo, don't like the newer albums as much as the older stuff. Morningrise and Orchid rule

MAYH is also my favourite Opeth album too...was listening to it just today.

Dang I hope they make it here!!

Indeed they are. 'Katatonia' kick their arse any day of the week. That said, I could probably like some of their stuff if I got into it, I've just never seen whats so fantastically great about them...
