Opeth new album and Tour

missed it because it fell between a Funeral and a Wedding -both of which were in Melbourne.

I've got my ticket for Opeth. Will buy the album in a couple days (I've heard it and loved it already). Can't wait for this one.


Also, rather than start new threads, y'all heard about Meshuggah in October? Not sure who here's into them.

I've never managed to get into Meshuggah. Lots of people think they're awesome, so I'm obviously missing something. My loss.

It can be hard to listen to at a stretch, but if you're willing, listen to the track Future Breed Machine. It has a bit of everything that Meshuggah would offer over the course of an album.

I'll have to check it out. The problem I had when I listened to Destroy Erase Improve was that every song sounded pretty same-ish.

Yeah that's Meshuggah in a nutshell, really. They don't write songs so much as albums broken up into separate chapters.

I think that their last album made it to number 26 on the Oz charts and stayed there for a while.

It's the little differences that make them interesting. Try listening on some good headphones and see where that takes you.
