I've read in an interview that the guys are working on it, and that it's to be released BEFORE the new year. Are there any new developments on this? I've been salivating for this ever since I read about it.

Maybe I read it wrong. It was an interview at digitalmetal.com. I'll try to find it to make sure...but I'm pretty sure about what I read.

Don't see the Fnord
In that interveiw he said they may split the album into one mellow album and one heavy album. This seems wrong to me. I beleive a lot of Opeth's power comes from the amazing transitions from smooth to heavy. The beauty in the darkness. I for one hope that they don't divide up the music. I love the combination.

Uuum, there have been two very long threads on this board on the double album, and one started by MFN on the general discusion board... so if u wanna c what other people thought 
I'm still dying to know whether or not the label gave it the OK. I kind of wish Mikael had an account here and would post occaisionally, some info straight from him now and then would be nice. But you know he'd just get flooded with replies with people wanting to have his love child. You know I'd be there.
