Opeth US Tour in JAN/FEB...

Yeah, I saw the AZ date on Ticketbastard. Nevermore is supposed to do a healining tour early next year, so I'm not sure how this will work out, unless they really are off the Opeth bill... In any event, I want to see them both!

I have a dumb question... why is Opeth coming back for another tour, is it to support the DVD? Or is it some kind of a warm-up before heading to studio to record the new album?

Sweden's OPETH will be returning to North America for another headlining tour beginning next month.

The trek, which is tentatively scheduled to kick off on January 18 and run through the end of February, will feature Portugal's MOONSPELL in the opening slot and another, as-yet-announced act as direct support (previously scheduled support band NEVERMORE have since dropped off the bill).

So far, only one date has been announced via Ticketmaster: January 28 at Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. The rest of the cities and dates are expected to be confirmed by the end of the week.

Maybe their albums are better but the performance was crap, awful sound, singer wouldn't keep the mike in his face so couldn't hear him either...crap crap crap.

I hope they come to California...it's such a tease being right above Az and not being able to see them.

I wouldn't worry about that seeing as their SF shows have been consistently sold out (with the exception of the PT show which was almost sold out) since the BWP tour. They've been to CA at least 3 times this year.

Heh...I saw Moonspell about 5 years ago on tour with Amorphis and they aren't exactly the best live band either. But it's been a while so they may have improved.
