ORPHANED LAND CONFIRMED FOR PPVI

Glenn has outdone himself on this one. But with great (prog)power comes great responsibility, so the duty of the people here attending should be to convince anyone who sees OL as an excuse for a bathroom/restaurant/merch break to stay put...

I'm actually typing this with one hand....

..and for all of you too slow in understanding, it means I'm furiously masturbating my war god with the other.

Orphaned Land at the Prog Power venue = worth the trip alone. :kickass:

I'm in Atlanta this week, I might as well just get in line now. :loco:

Sooooooooooooo, are you coming to the fest this year?

I'm psyched about Orphaned Land. Gonna spin both El Norra Alila and Sahara tonight.

I'm also psyched about PC69. Ironically, in the last two months I've really gotten into these guys. Simply put, they are just good, clean fun. And now I get to hear David Readman sing live, after he left Adagio shortly after they were confirmed for PPV.

This festival is shaping up quite nicely.

I can't remember - what did you think of Mabool?

What a name, Pink Cream 69. It sounds just a tad gay, in a anal fisting kind of way. Who do they sound like?

I really enjoyed it. It was the one mistake I made in my Top 10 of 2004. It should have been an honorable mention. Was listening to it again last night. It's going to be interesting to see how they pull their music off live.

The singer reminds me of Kelly Hansen of Hurricane. That's a fairly obscure reference, I know. But it drove me crazy for two weeks while I tried to put my finger on who he reminded me of. If you checked out Adagio at all before the last PP, you've heard him. Although he didn't perform with Adagio, he has sung on all of their CDs to date. As for who they sound like... that's still driving me crazy. Their CDs sound like quality 80s L.A. Metal, that's been Y2K updated, with a touch of Power Metal thrown in for good measure. While I'm sure that description won't drive you to quickly log on to your favorite online CD store and buy their entire back catalogue, it really does work. I'm not much of a fan of these throwback bands, but PC69 write really enjoyable songs. Though I could do without their power ballads (theirs or anyone elses for that matter), the rest f their material is strong. I have a feeling they will go over really, really well at PP.

I'm intrigued about PC69, sounds like they're gonna be a blast!

I definitely need to hear me some.

Zod - so glad to hear there's a couple of bands that have put you in "excitement mode". :)

JayKeeley - you also bringin' that paying squatter of yours from London? :loco:

Damn - I don't know if I've EVER been this psyched for a U.S. Metal Festival!!

Yeah, I definitely went from "glass is half empty", to "glass is half full" mode. Now, if Glenn can only round out this line-up with Iced Earth or Demons & Wizards, Nevermore, Pyramaze and Magnitude 9, I'll need to be put on a prescription of AntiViagra.

"Squatter"? Hmmm... that's the first time I've ever heard that term used to describe a same sex life partner. :loco:

What the fuck is that supposed to mean you smelly cunt? :tickled:

Yeah, there is talk of the Chief coming over and doing a PPIII type pre-party event down in Vegas for a few days. There is something quite cool about going to Vegas before a weekend fest - it takes the edge off, especially when compared to flying down after a day in the office.

Anyone else interested in doing Vegas for a couple of days before PPVI?
