The Tea Party was awesome until people like Bachmann, Palin, and Gingrich associated themselves with it. The original IDEA was brilliant in my eyes. Now it's just a huge crock of shit that should be abandoned as it's nothing more than the Republican party under a different name.

Oh, and Glenn Beck can die. The world has no use for that fearmongering fuck. Hell, the only politician that I even like right now would be Ron Paul, and to an extent, his son Rand. I'm a very big fan of small government but also being socially liberal. I want the government to control things that are absolutely critical (defense, infrastructure, etc..) and want them to get their greedy mitts out of everything else. They have absolutely no business outlawing or supporting gay marriage, abortion, stem cell research, etc...

After much deliberation over the past couple of years and after trying to understand just what the hell the Tea Party actually is, I've finally come to a realization.
All joking aside, I really do believe that I could never be friends with a Teabagger. Not saying I couldn't get along with him/her or even hang out, but I don't think I could ever be friends with them. I was thinking about this today for some reason, and I've yet to see anything constructive come out of their mouths...it's always just more and more threats. Then when you ask them questions and try to debate a bit with them, you realize that they honestly have no clue what they're talking about. They're just ranting and pointing the finger at random politicians, inventing fallacies in their mind and hurling them in the form of insults and protests towards the politician of the day.
I just realized that I would never and could never be ok with having someone like that in my life. It's something repelling to me.

Wrong. Libertarians are fiscal conservatives that believe that government shouldn't be involved in moral issues like gay marriage, abortion and other socially conservative issues and also don't believe in wasting money in social programs for the lazy. Essentially, a libertarian believes that the government serves two purposes. Protect the populace from foreign invasion and protect the rights of its citizens.
I've talked to libertarians that were former Democrats and those that are former Republicans. The generalization that they are all Republicans holds no water, especially if you are going by the stereotype that all republicans are god-fearing people that hate fags and sluts.
