OT-Chuck Schuldiner

If it had some blow in it I would be dead by now... lmao my diabetes would have kicked in!

Moxie's not for everyone, some people can't stand it. I just happen to love the taste and I think it tastes much better than Coke.

EDIT: BTW, Moxie also comes in diet and cream soda. Not sure if the cream soda is around anymore, though. :erk:

- Moxxxie (Probably some porn star name lmao)

(Sorry Chuck, we seemed to have stopped talking about you. :erk: )

has anyone seen the Death Live in LA DVD? my friend let me borrow it and i personally thought it was freakin awesome!!. I loved the raw quality of it, it showed you how good of a live band they really were. I'm planning to buy it soon, i recommend any Death fan to check it out (it has a pretty killer setlist too).

On another note, I got some Death-related equipment from ebay including the same pickup Chuck used (Dimarzio X2n) and Marshall 8100 valvestate head (which he also used from what i've read)hehe cant wait to try them out when i go home next weekend (i think im gonna just sell the X2n though since i also got EMG 81/60 set:erk: ) .

ya dude, ive got the 8100 vs head and currently use it with avatar cab...sounds awesome and clean. Death live in LA owns!

The DVD is awesome...
I like the sound of the EMG's, maybe it's just me...
never heard what x2n's sound like in person...just the Death CD's

Man the equipment chuck used was pretty horrible. The Marshall Valvestates are quite possibly some of the worst amps to ever hit the scene. I have absolutely no idea what Chuck saw in them, but the atrocity of their tone is reflected on his albums.

I've never heard the X2N in person, so it would be interesting. My main axe has two EMG 707s so I have just about as much gain as I could possibly want out of one. The X2N just falls short of the EMGs I think.

he just showed that money doesnt make the music :) and i've managed to get a heck of a good tone with my 8100 valvestate...in flames, death, at the gates...i've dialed in all their tones.

i only wish they didnt have to cut the live in LA set short without playing lack of comprehension...

there is something about chuck's solo style that i find amazing, and extremely signature. I could hear like one measure of a chuck solo and automatically know its him

thanks for the response guys, im suppose to go back home next weekend so i can finally try out the new equipment. I love Chuck's tone so hopefully i can get something similar yet different (because of the EMG's).

Yeah and im also planning to get that Sounds of Perseverance package with DVD, i want to see that live in cottobus show so bad!!! plus from what ive heard of that CD, its pretty bad ass.

Its rare to find a band that continues to churn out quality music album after album like Death did. Even their swansong album was amazing. Its better that Death went out on a high note rather than in shame.

You got Carcass stuck in your head :D haha [carcass-swansong]

Death/Carcass some of the most influential bands for modern tone.

I heard that the Cottbus show was pretty garbage. Most of the songs were cut, and the audio is pretty bad quality (not "bad" like the Live in LA album, but bad like an audience bootleg on garbage equipment shot all the way at the back of the room)
