OT: Does a recordingstudio necessarily need a lava lamp?

I remember (but cant find a link) Michael Wagner posted on gear slutzs a picture of a row of Lava lamps he keeps in his control room. Im not sure how it contributes to the sound but if hes using them it cant do any harm
