Pete Steele, lead singer for Type O Negative passed away yesterday at the very young age of 48.

I am no fan but I know enough of this band to respect their contribution to all that we love about this musical genre.

Sad news. RIP Pete.

terrible tragedy for the metal community and especially new york. Pete was such a singular figure in the new york scene. a blue collar, intellectual, smart ass, poet....jeez. it just leaves an empty place in me.
