What happened to this fabolous band? Really sad that it doesnt exist anymore. No one makes beautiful folk metal anymore, but there are countless of boring jazz-prog-avantgarde bands.
So I really hope that otyg decides to start up again.

We got bored and didn't think that we could evolve within the frames that we sort of created for ourselves..and most likely we'll stay away from doing anything more with that band.

Im still looking forward to your next album. It cant be bad when the lyrics will be in svensk again. A person who have made masterpieces like Cosmic Genesis and Ôdemarkens son simply cant be capable to make bad music (even focusing blur have many great moments).

Hell yea, the only thing that reminds me of Arcturus is the beginning of Astral And Arcane.

Since everyone's on the topic of Otyg, for my first post i'd like to ask a question: i just figured out Lövjerskan on mandolin and i'm trying to learn how to sing it...and i don't know a word of swedish (aside from blod and tid..too much Månegarm). So i would like to know what it is i'm trying to say: does anyone have an english translation of this song? it would be greatly appreciated

No, I didnt call Vintersorg just another boring jazz-progband. The point is that it is too many of those (peccatum, ulver, solefald etc)

I have nothing against "jazz-prog-avantgarde" bands, yet to me there seems a hell of a lot more of those kind of Scandinavian bands than just real folk music, and it's quite disappointing they almost all have jazz influences and such, when I have the urge just to hear something completely traditional sounding...

ugh, I can't stand the idea of clumping bands like Peccatum, Ulver, and Solefald together considering the fact that they sound nothing like one another and the only thing they have in common with another is their complete originality. "boring jazz-prog" is such an insult to all these cutting edge forward thinking bands who are creating music that explores musical terrain never touched upon before.

Peccatum, Ulver and Solefald have nothing in common and I can't hear any jazz influence. By the way the piano part on the song Curtains reminds me very much of Arcturus.
