For me, it depends. Early new metal, I don't mind, like Deftones, Coal Chamber (first record), System. Bizkit (saw them open for Faith No More in 97, thought, who's this fucking douchebag?), Korn, Disturbed, Linkin fucking Park, no fucking thanks. This white-boy gangsta postering got old before it started. Anyway, OzzFest 97 crushed me. Fear Factory, Machine Head, Pantera, Marilyn Manson (a kick-ass show, I must admit), Type O (meh, until Anselmo helped 'em out), Neurosis on 2nd stage, Drain STH, Ozzy pre-senility.
