Peavey 5150 Signature Fx Send or Preamp Out

I've been using the preamp out but not getting the results I want. Are you guys using preamp out or fx send?? Using impulses.

You mean going straight to a mixer/interface/preamp from the preamp out? Well, it's not that good of a sound.
I tried the preamp out of both a 5150II and an Engl Savage SE, and they both suck. Preamp outs can be useful for monitoring in some situations, but I wouldn' record them.
Just stick a 57 in front of the cab...

If I remember correctly the FX Send signal was a tad louder so I used that instead and didn't have to crank the post gain knob so much...
