Peavey vtm60

I got the offer to buy a Peavey VTM60 very cheap. I've never heard about that amp! The sound should be close to a 5150 - is that true?

Has anyone played it? Please share your experiences/opinions!

from what i know, that amp is like a Peavey version of a Marshall Jcm 800

It's a pretty cool amp. Treat it like a JCM800 with a slight pedal boost and you should be happy. It's more flexable than a JCM and for a short while was used on a lot of Jim Varney produced records. Michael Faith and Al Pitrelli used them and had some cool tones. A total sleeper amp.

Played the amp today, not bad, especially for the price. A little muddy in the bass...

Have to try it in the studio and see what happens.

i had a 120 watt version of that head. Sounds grand with the right valves, and yup, it's a JCM800 clone, and after a lot of mods became the 5150 (which I use now).
