Thinking about getting the 2x12 combo....MF has it for 699.99!!!

Thoughts? I guess its discontinued, or soon to be....

I own that amp and I love it. Very versatile. I changed out the stock sheffield speakers with Celestion G12-t75's and drastically improved the sound. The best thing about the amp is the ability to change power tubes from 6L6's to EL34's with the flip of a switch. For that price, I say go for it.

Was reading on eurotubes site about the xxx and el34's....maybe it is only the jj tubes causing the problems...

Don't get confused. Without new screen resistors, the XXX can't handle E34L's. EL34's do just fine.

I am using the same brand Electro Harmonix, but not the ones it shipped with.

You'll love it bro... I use the head, and it kicks ass. I'd swap the speakers as suggested though. I went with 2- v30's in my cab and it helped alot.

Oh and you might want to grab a noise gate like the ISP or hush rack unit....
