No, there were hardly any effects put on his voice. Mostly just compression and reverb I think for Bloodbath.

Yeah, they used an insane amount of compression on his voice there. Not much reverb that I noticed, although I think he doubled up the vocals - recorded them twice so it sounds better.

I think Dan used a similar recording style for Moontower vocals, just not doubled-up.

A friend of mine keeps asking me if it's really true that Mikael doesn't use any effects on his voice. I told him that if he's kind enough to accompany me to the next live Opeth concert he'll find out for himself

There are effects on a few songs. Such as the overdubs at the beginning of DotF, and on BtPISiO. The clean vocals have effects often.
