What does he do when Opeth plays their older songs? I watched the movie linked to another thread and I suddenly thought to ask?

Mikael and the guys wrote keyboard accompaniment for some parts of the old songs. If you watch and listen to the live When video, you can see and hear him playing.

they added keys to the opening riff of deliverance at rockam ring an i didnt like it much, it sounds less, well, metal/heavy.
i dont like it when an instrument is used just for the sake of it.
the next opeth album could rival cradle of filth with key sections, maybe per could get a church organ or something

When I saw them, Per seemed to do nothing except make an irritating, high-pitched screechy drone with his keys on the non-keyboard songs. It was awful, I don't know what posessed Mike to allow that to happen.

However, on that Rock AM Ring vid, I LOVE what he was doing over Closure. That was awesome :D

I must say that on the only Opeth concert I've ever been to, that Per seemed to drown the older songs in keyboards. Maybe it was the sound settings there but the keyboard definitely took away from the impact of the original songs.

indeed
i meant pre-deliverance.
me = idiot

LD described it right.
i though "what is wrong with the sound"
then I saw per in the back holding a key, twisting a knob, and head banging.
METUUHH:rock: HLLLLL!! imo

Hes hit and miss really the stuff he adds to When is really cool tastefully done stuff.

Anyway every1 should stop dissin him nobodys Per-fect

i didnt like teh keybord stuff did on damnation, it just sounded too fake like and it was on pretty much every song. i prefer what he did on GR and what he does live on older songs, but keyboard can very easily be over used = damnation imo
