Refreshing? The scream then clean is done to death. Screamo has already come and gone using that method.

What would be refreshing is some anthems/hooks in amongst the vocal/fret gymnastics. (not saying there are none in Perif, just commenting on the clean and mean vox in tech/djent in general)

I agree with you on the hooks over djent I guess thats more what i meant. I can't find it now but if you can check out the first vocal version that I think Jake screamed on and compare it to Casey's vocals. The more flat format of more screaming compared to Casey's focus on adding melody is my idea of screaming over periphery being weaker in adding to the song.
