phantom power

Was just searching around and wanted to bring up this topic:

Say you have 2 OH condenser mics on a drumkit, and the rest are dynamic. Ok, now your interface has phantom power for the condensers, but it switches channels 1-4 phantom ON/OFF or channels 5-8 phantom ON/OFF.

Let's say the 2 condensers are plugged into channels 7 & 8.

Does this do any weird stuff to the dynamic mics on channels 5 & 6?

I've recorded this way before and never noticed an issue, but I'm still a bit unsure and curious.

It will have no effect. Dynamic mics are transformer coupled and since the +48Vdc is applied to both output signals of the mic, it is cancelled out by the transformer. If you have removed the transformer from the mic then it will sound like utter shit if you apply phantom power, but still won't damage the mic.
