I walked down this trail at dusk yesterday while listening to 'N Crugu Bradului OMGZ IT WAS SO AWESOME

later on when it was even darker out I went down a section of trail that was even older forest (not this recently regrown from forestfire area pictured above) and listened to Maiastru Sfetnic.

altogether it was an evening drenched in forest atmosphere. The Beastial screaming on Maiastru scared me a couple of times on my walk.

The only pictures I've taken in the past 3 months are of my parents two new dogs. I'll post pics of them fighting while I blast Hate Eternal soon enough.

Best vocal performance on a BM record. Shit, that stuff scares me when I'm just sitting in my living room.

Fucking great, I wish I could take new autumn pics as well but I CAN'T FUCKEN WALK AND I'M DYING FROM THE PAIN OF SITTING FOR A WHILE SO NOW I WILL GO LIE DOWN :( (Everyone feel sorry for me and send me porn and candy in the mail please)

thanks for the praise :)

Hey spaffe, what kind of camera do you have? Great quality there...

nothing fancy at all, a canon a70. it takes good pictures and has a lot of nice settings to toy with, though it tends to overexpose at times, but given the price it's a really good choice.

SLR cameras are the way to go for manual control, but digital SLRs are still way too expensive (and aren't quite the same high quality of 35mm).

Those are great spaffe, I particularly like the 3rd one down. I wish we had an actual autumn season here, I'm still dealing with triple digit temperatures.

1995.-?! Fuck me, digital cameras have become SO much cheaper lately... Actually that looks really cool, ours is good but pretty much totally automatic, you can't really control much, this seems to be a far better choice for fiddling with (and ours was 4995.- a year or two ago... Grumble)

yeah, that camera is a good trade-off between an SLR with all it's manual settings and completly automatic one, perhaps your not planning on getting one but i can really recomend it.

SLR is teh shit. but to be perfectly honest (to myself mostly), i'm not knowledgable enough to really make use of all it's functions; nontheless i was very close to buying one instead of the perfectly allright i have now

man that sucks, i could never live in a place without proper seasons, how cold does it get downthere when it's at its coldest?

It just takes a bit of practice, and of course a book teaching you what to do, like this one that I picked up. :D I'm hardly a professional but I'm happy with most of my photos. I'm really bad with metering though, I always forget and then my horizon pictures come out overexposed. D'oh.

Winters at night get to like 40ºF/5ºC and summers can reach 110ºF/43ºC. I live near the desert so it's a bit warmer than most of California, but it only ever gets cold enough to snow in the mountains (except on rare, once every 10 year occasions). At least the mountains are close by to me so I have access to an actual winter for several months out of the year.

hm, i've actually read his earlier book of photography, it was quite informative though painfully outdated on some points.

hehe 5 degrees above zero is pretty lousy; going walking a cold night when all is covered in snow is some of the best about the winter

Last year was the first time in like 22 years that I had been in snow while it was actually snowing. Walking around town laughing at people in overcoats and umbrellas, I had jeans and a light jacket on getting icicles in my eyebrows and beard, it was pretty cool.

Heehee. I don't mind not having to deal with snow every day, 2-3 months out of the year the mountains are covered in it, and it's only a 40 minute drive each way. So every year I can make snowmen but I never have to shovel it off my driveway. :p

What bugs me is the lack of difference in seasons.

You wouldn't have to if you switched to using a sane system of measurement.
Fuck this had me laughing. Good shit.

Same here. I live in a tropical climate and most days it's 34C... coldest it ever gets during the day is about 28, any time of the year. I'm moving to fucking Switzerland one of these days...

I'm moving to fucking titland one of these decades.

EDIT: Titland, sorry.

I was out walking today in the stunning weather; half a meter of snow, -12 degrees and sunshine, it made me realize how much I need too live close to some form of forest or other a great nature scenery in general for my mental well being :)
