Eluvium has been mentioned a couple of times. DEFINITELY worth a listen if you love simple, beautiful piano work.

I just listened to it. Wow. It's that kind of simplicity that's so great about piano! I especially liked "London: 1892..." and "Quit".

Another classical cat I think is worth mentioning is Alexander Scriabin, whose piano music ranges from the late-romantic to the atonal. He can be an acquired taste but he had some very unique compositional ideas and he was an influence on some of the giants of the 20th century.

He was also the main infulence on The Fractured Dimension, a classical/jazz/prog metal piano based band with the pianist from Scholomance (who someone else recommended).
