Pirate Metal!!

hey guys i just heard a very cool band, its called Black Sabbath, i don't know if anyone ever heard of them :kickass:

The Therion cover of that song fucking pwns souls.

anyway, here is it Kochon my son, they are True Scottish Pirate Metal http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/alestorm-398

i recomend reading their lyrics, its rather fun

lol, Battleheart is a band that has good music but the shittiest vocals you can imagine, no offense to Chris. The demos they made were the worst pieces of shit I've ever heard. There's x909438049384309 more talented bands out there, how the fuck they got signed I'll never know.

talend have nothing to do with getting signed, but they don't suck, and the vocals fit the music... the music as one, its good, i do rather Korpiklaani thou

Seriously, why the fuck does everyone say that. "The vocals fit the music".

That's bullshit, the vocals suck, the music doesn't, therefore it doens't fit. They could find someone who 'sounds piratey', but doesn't suck. Old Battleheart was like a third-rate Korpiklaani rip-off. Anyone who could sit through those demos must have been heavily focused on the music (which was very unoriginal if I might add, but folk music is known for that I suppose) because those vocals are the worst I've probably ever heard. I have them on my computer, someone sent them to me and my god. Back then I was almost certain they wouldn't have gotten signed. Now that they have access to a professional studio, the music has gone from average to good (although I'm sure the fact studio muscians played on the entire album (except Gavin) and they contributed to it helped with that), but the vocals haven't improved much at all. Only parts of the new songs I can bear to stand are the shouted chorus parts, because you don't have to hear those godamn vocals. It's a shame, really.

I have nothign against Chris, I'm just voicing my opinion.

The only studio musicians on the album..is some dude on the drums..and well some of the group shouts and choirs had some I think..but other than that..all bass and keys were recorded in gav's studio and the rest was recorded in Lasse's studio (lsd studios or something).

Of course the vocals fit a music, would you put your gay-lover ICS Vortex to sing cob? and i didn't meant tecnicly, beacause tecnicly all scream/growling metal sucks
if you get Alexi, even in the early days, tecnicly he is quite bad, but it fit the fucking song
Ozzy is fucking terrible, but i'd choose him over Dio any fucking day
i'd choose Wilska over Vreth, cuz Wilska sounds much more troll-ish

i'm not friend with Alestorm guys, i do not own them nothing.
why would you say that pro-musicians played the instruments? do you have any proof of that? or you're just making things up from your mind (which is basicly what i see in your posts everyday) and its a matter of taste anyway, they are young, have a lot to learn of course, but in the sense that they're a fairly new band, they are a good band

Chris and Gavin were the only members of Alestorm that were able to make it to Germany for recording, session musicians filled the empty spaces.

Not that it matters.
