Playstation 3

uncharted was a cool game, too. little big adventure is the worst game ever!
I just bought "Rampage" from the online store for 5€. It's just amazing how such an old game can still be cool to play. much fun!

Little Big Planet I'm kind of on the fence about - my impression is it seems to be based on creativity and customization of your own levels, rather than much that comes from the factory, which I'm not too keen on; I like immersing myself in a story/world/environment, not having to create it myself...

Oh, and if you want a totally weepy-eyed beautiful Japanese RPG, Eternal Sonata is supposed to be incredible - I asked for it (and received it) for XMAS, but have yet to play it (still engrossed in MGS4) :D

Definitly need a quick MGS story-summary, before I get MGS4.

There's an MGS encyclopaedia up for free on the Playstation Store. Kind of a convoluted way to experience the story, but useful if you just want a sort of, "who the fuck are they talking about?" reference guide.

GTA 4 is fantastic. It's more serious, as people mention, but it still has its wacky and funny moments; they're just generally more subtle. You'll still find yourself chasing down homophobic people on a scooter and befriending a roid-monkey who's suspiciously similar to FPS-Doug...

I absolutely loved Assassin's Creed. Played it so much I hurt my hands on the controller!

I'll have to check out SR2 soon.

I really dig that game too, but I can't finish the damn thing. I'm not exactly a hardcore gamer, so maybe my reflexes aren't up to par....but towards the ending when you have to fight like 20 something Templars I eat it every time.
I got too frustrated and gave up.....

I'm playing the new Prince of Persia right now which is fairly easy so far, but still a lot of fun.

Little Big Planet's pretty cool. I dig the ideas... its funny when you've got your friends on.

I'm not into those Japanese bubble-gum graphic stuff. I hated Sudeki for example. MGS4 was very good though!
@Metaltastic: whats you gamer-id on psn?
mine is "hoehlentroll", feel free to add me.

Haha, well I actually have yet to play my PS3 online, but if/when I do, I'll totally add ya!

My PS3 is online, but I still have to sort out how to add people and how I can actually benefit from it. I mean - do you do voice-chats or something like that? Or do you speak exclusively about "Home" (which to me looks like second life and thus far too geeky :D).

I'm definitly going to sell Assasins Creed. I hate it by now :D
I have watched a Video-Review on ign.com and the guy stated that it's the most disappointing game of the year to him - and I am totally with him! First it's absolute fun to climb around the cities, run over the rooftops killing guards. Even the first few tower-climb-missions are cool, but come on ... that's basically it. Four or five different mission-types is not enough for a game like AC.
Any german who wants it? 20 bucks and it's yours (not the platinum-version) :D

I have an Xbox360 but ps3 has this game too: Condemned, Condemned 2: bloodshot. Best 1st person survival horror shit I've ever played. Scary and atmospheric as hell!

Anyone else a trophy addict? I'm totally hooked by trophies in an almost sick way. I got to do 100% on every game... I'm on Call of duty 5 now trying to complete it on veteran and it's total hell!

its not THAT bad... you've just got to be a bit more deliberate in where you position yourself so that you dont get obliterated.

Im still ridiculously quick on the draw, soooo, I dont get hit much.

My kill ratio online is a 2.03... I've got about 2000 kills and 950 deaths... blah... it WAS 2.4 something then I fucked up a bunch.

PSN ID = TheCynic

Beyond that, I LOVE Uncharted: Drake's Fortune; it's not the most original game in terms of gameplay (Tomb Raider meets Gears of War) and story (Indiana Jones in a modern setting with young, wry characters), but the writing and voice acting is AMAZING; Naughty Dog (the studio) has always been at the forefront of fantastic scriptwriting and casting, and these characters really stand out as some of the most fleshed-out, believable, and likeable I've ever known in a VG. Plus, it still is the best looking game I've ever played; MGS4 has better character detail, but the environments are kinda bland, whereas Uncharted is the most consistently gorgeous game I've yet to encounter. Highly recommended!

What he said, just a really immersive game.

On the whole though I've been slightly disappointed with the PS3 launches of late. MGS4 was lame, a step back in gameplay compared to 2+3 and the storyline was a complete hash. Oh and if I wanted to watch (rather than actually play!) a lame nuclear/cyber/action/shooter/knucklehead movie I would have bought a Steven Seagal movie for £2.99 out of the bargain bin. Same goes for Fallout, Its the dullest world ever, and its incredible how much they didn't put in it. I literally played for a couple of hours straight and stumbled across no missions, and landscapes/environments populated by nothing and nobody. I mean they bothered to build huge underground networks and then not only is there nothing to do but there's nothing even to pick up. Oblivion just totally owned this game on every front. Beautiful to play in and far, far more to do/collect/fight/explore.

The best games are the oldies; Oblivion and Drakes Fortune, both now on platinum/budget range.

Quake Wars Enemy Territory is amazing fun for hardcore shooter online team based gameplay. I can't stop playing it. Seriously. My engineering skills are suffering. For the love of all that is holy, somebody help me.
