Please stop!

I think the album speaks for itself, but since it has been struck dumb by Wyvern's gayness and lyingness :loco: I'll speak for it. I'd say the dark, atmospheric songs and brooding lyrics are a nice, original twist for Maiden, and is nicely complimented by Blaze Bayley's deep, booming voice. Couple that with the classic Maiden formula of an epic with riff after riff strung together, the galloping rhythms, cool air guitaring harmonies and solos and general headbanging goodness, and you're onto a winner. Anyone who disagrees is a fool :p
Yeah thats what I meant to say!!! Blaze is a great Vocalist I dont care what anybodyelse thinks! :)

I hope it goes well with the monkey turd burgers :p at least we can choose for our food to suck!

JD - fave Blaze era song?

Concerning The X Factor, I'd say that overall it's a good record. It's light-years better than the dreadful "Fear of the Dark".

However, the X was severly underproduced. Or rather, it was the victim of the super sized ego of Steve Harris.

First of all, Iron Maiden IS a metal band. Metal is generally dominated by guitar. However, the guitars on X sound as if recorded under water.
The sound is just dreadful. Poor...

Concerning Blaze, the man CAN sing! Just listen to his solo material. However, his performance on the X is simply miserable. Constantly warbling in and out of key.....it's simply evident that Harris can't produce. He couldn't get the best out of his players. When Blaze worked with Andy Sneap on his solo records, the difference is remarkable.

Overall, the songwriting on X is quite good, and the dark atmosphere is great! It's a worthy addition to the Maiden catalogue. But that's IN SPITE of the horrendous production.

hmmm will a Top 5 in no order work? :)

Fortunes of war
Virus
Signs of the Cross
Dont look to the eyes of a stranger
Como estes amigos

now in all fairness I will go on the record as saying Virtual was not that great of an album 90% of the song writing was bad but it wasnt Blazes fault ... as for X-Factor I have said this before if it wasnt for that album I may have never became a Maiden fan Bruce doesnt really do much for me

I was going to say it as "Core Maiden Fans" but Maidencore sounded more insulting
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! Was a good one anyway ;)

I suppose some people can't take humor. Like Abryl can't take Slayer (what a way to start another war  )

I can take humor. In fact, I like some of the Blaze stuff from his days in Maiden, Wolfsbane & some of his solo stuff...
I can't say I'm a huge fan, but there's some great stuff that he's done.
He makes a great punching bag for American guitarists too!:tickled:

Maybe if you tried humour, you'd get a better reaction :p

JD - yeah, I agree with Virtual XI...the trouble I have personally with that is Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger and The Educated Fool are the ones I always skip cos I find 'em boring, and they clock in at about 15 mins combined and that's a big chunk of album taken out. Still, some good choons on it. I love Como Estais Amigos (sp?) also...

Blaze is Kinda like Religion and Polotics it shouldnt even be brought up it takes everything I have not to blow my top and get myself booted from the board lol

Back to KISS...

I never really got their whole thing. Important band in the grand scheme of things? Absolutely - they took the "big stage show" and all that and put it on the map. But MUSICALLY? It's laughable. They have some catchy melodies and shit, but by their own admission their whole this is about image. And before anyone says anything - yes - being a musician, I am biased and am pretty critical of bands who don't really push the envelope technically. But having said that - there are plenty of bands who don't do technical stuff that I have a lot more respect for.

That's my 2 cents...KISS is pretty lame in my opinion...

As a an advice kiddo, if you become more careful when you use certain words you get some humor too. One time may be funny, the second time is asking for trouble.

In short, as you treat people you'll be treated.

I will no refer to this subject anymore. JD you know you're my bro, I don't have any problem with you or with you musical tastes

I think it's great. It's no secret that I love KISS past present and future. I don't give a crap. Musical integrity? no way. The greatest live show on earth? YUP! (my opinion) I dunno. KISS has always kept the child within me alive and I love 'em for it. I think, as AYEKA said, that as long as they are up front about wanting your money..so be it! It's all these bands that claim to be all about the music but really are all about the benjamins that make me nauseous. Gene is honest about caring about money above all else...what else can ya do? Nobody has to buy the stuff.

KISS is still the greatest show on earth. Until VH brings Dave back. hehehe
Love ya!
Mean it!
Ted
AGREED CHAMP!!!!!!!

I must admit I feel ripped off by these mother fuckers & I will not buy anything of theirs. Let's be honest here, those bastards aren't gonna put out another original record, because the well has gone dry. I must add that their best line up was the Revenge era if you wanna hear some more technical stuff, it would be from that era. The drumming is far better than Eric Carr's & Bruce Kulick smoked on that one...
Having said that, they were my introduction to Rock music & for that I am greatful....

I have to agree there. They tried something different and came up with some really good songs. Just one problem: Blaze. I can't stand his voice, I guess it fits ok with those songs, but overall I think he stinks :yuk: He can go to hell for all I care :)
