Hello,

Im in the search of a nice plugin controller and I just wanted to see if i missed some of the alternatives out there. I really want something like the eq/dynamic section of the D-command series but in a cheaper format haha. Don't mind if it looks cheap, the cheaper the better in this case.

I really like the idea of a physical knob, using your hands instead of the muse to controll plugins but not for say 20k like the D-command series. I always wondered why all this products are sooooo expensive. Is it really that expensive to produce them?

The best looking option seems to be this one:

And the Behringer BCR2000

I know there was some talk about a one fader controller that i think Ermin got, but im more after a dedicated plugin controller first hand. But if you know a nice compact solution then i'll check it out.

Cheers!

My problem with hardware controllers is how fucking long it takes to scroll through my big ass list of plugins to select the one I want, then having to scroll through 4-5 pages sometimes of tweak able perimeters.

At the end of the day I just don't like the way hardware is implemented into the software effect world. Real hardware yeah, but controlling plugs... I have yet to find anything I like.

Well i just want a simple eq controller. Im usually only using PT's eqIII and some simple dynamic plugin. The steinberg controller seems nice if you can use it with PT. The Mc control would be awesome IF they released a plugin controller surface add-on.

How about the Command 8? That's what i use and you can find them pretty cheap used or sometimes on clearance (I got mine for 750$ brand new that way). You get 8 rotary encoders to mess with the parameters and for more precision you can hit the flip button to switch to the faders. If you work mainly in PT i would say give it a try and see if it's what your looking for.

I also changed the knobs and faders on mine. The stock ones where ok but i preferred the feel of the higher end digi consoles so i swapped them over for Pro-Control faders and D-Command knobs.
