Whenever i have a conversation about these kind of controllers i always think its best to know exactly what you want to do with it,
For me these Behringer units would not be any good because they have no screen above each fader to show you what channel/function you are about to manipulate.
Now this is fine if you have several units and you write on a scribble strip what each channel each fader is, rather like using an analogue desk,
but then of you flip the faders for plugin control or bank to a new group of faders you have no idea where you are again,
Ive only ever bought controllers that have a screen and more recently touch sensitive fader that show you your parameter just by touching the fader cap but not actually moving it.
Now i know my MC control doesnt have a screen above each fader but the touch sensitive faders get over this as ive explained above.
If all you want a controller for is to control faders then the behringer might be fine,
But i want more from a controller, i want to try and replace the mouse and KB and speed up my workflow, personally i could work faster with a mouse than use a behringer.
if you are on a super budget I would say ones worth looking out for second hand would be:
Mackie control/Logic control V1 - (fairly cheap average build quality) uses HUI Emulation
Radikal SAC2K - great build quality uses HUI Emulation
Mackie HUI - great build quality uses HUI protocol
CM Automation MotorMix - great build quality uses HUI protocol
