Hello everyone. My first post over here, so yeah, hi to everyone :)

anyways, i'm interested if any of you have heard or possibly mixed some stuff on PMC monitors, especially on the TB2Ss. How you feel distorted guitars, especially downtuned guitars (seems everything I get to do lately is like that) sound with them? Any other mixing experiences with them are ofcourse welcome as well.

Thanks in advnace.

Hmm, I'd never heard of them before your post - but now that I've looked 'em up, I know I've seen them before in people's studio pics. I'm in the market for some monitors myself, do you know where they're sold online so I can get an idea of the prices?

EDIT: Nevermind, found 'em on Vintageking - holy fuck these are way more than I expected! I'm planning on spending $1k, so I guess the DB1S is what I'm curious about myself!

ANOTHER EDIT: Ok, I guess the $1k pair is for passives, and the actives are twice as much! So much for PMC :)

I've found the active version of these on sale at musik produktiv (europe)

since two pieces are roughly 3000 swiss franks, that translates to about 2000eur (or roughly 3.100$) for a pair. But yeah, it's an amazing amount of money to shell out for a project studios' pair of nearfields I think, but then again ADAM S3A costs 3.500€ a pair (tho yes, they are considered more midfields) and they seem to be selling allright.

I've tried ADAM A7s and Dynaudio BM5a side-by-side yesterday and decided that I don't really like either of them, or better yet that I want to treat myself to something better (call me a gear snob if you will, but guitars sound icky on the A7 and dynaudio's just ate reverb for breakfast). So, it's all leading me to rather try the upper class of nearfields (since I intend to stay for quite a while in a smaller room and I like to keep my monitoring volume low) where PMC and such brands are supposed to reside, but I'd like some opinions first. I tried the A7s and dynaudios in a treated room, with material I've mixed already before and, well... it sure as hell is better than my bx8a's in my room, but I've expected more. Maybe there's not such a difference in this pricerange?
