You have to buy Platinum v1.0 then you get 2.0 Plat Free
As for how long ... No idea. But I tried out 2.0 last week and absolutely fell in love with the bass amps. That alone is worth the $150 to me!

Since oct 2009 you are eligible for a free upgrade to pod farm 2 from pod farm 1 (both platinum and lite) if you bought any pod farm, pod studio or pod x3. At least that's what the knowledge base says. A store in town is selling pod farm platinum for 100$, definitely buying one.

Pod Farm Platinum 2 includes everything Line 6 has released for the POD, right? all the extra packs and such?
Yep i did this a couple months ago, but it was a complete surprise to me that i would be able to upgrade for free, made it rule that much harder
