I was reading through this forum and found something about running a tubescreamer ts9 between the guitar and the pod, if i got it right? I just wanted to show some of my stuff, I have a Pod XT Pro and I used a DOD YJM overdrive preamp with it, to get a nice leadsound.

How did they get Yngwie inside that little box?

Seriously though, nice chops. How exactly did your tone improve with the stompbox? Do you use its gain or just a level boost to hit the POD harder?

:hotjump:
Thanks man! I used a pretty clean sound on the Pod and added gain from the DOD. I've been trying to copy the sound in the Pod without the DOD preamp, but I can't get that sound. It sounds warmer, smoother in some way.

wow, that sounds identical to Yngwie's tone to me. Pretty cool. How is it for rhythm guitar?

I haven't tried it with rhythm guitar, lol *I´m stupid* :loco: I'll try it and post it for you. :headbang:

I use a TS808 before my POD XT. The emulated Screamer in the XT doesn't sound nearly as good. It ALMOST gets there tonally, but it adds a lot of digital artifacts that aren't so tasty. With the TS808 in front of the Criminal amp model with the 4x12 vintage 30 cab I can get a tone that absolutely destroys!

Ok here it goes, sloppy playing and I think I came up with a real shitty sound for the rhythm guitar. lol. However, I recorded another Yngwiesh solo that I think turned out quite nice.

I'm thinking of buying a Tubescreamer, just to try it out after reading all about it at this website. Do you have any audiosamples of that "Tone Of Destruction"? By the way, I'm checking out your website, looks cool.

Yeah I do. The tracks that are streaming on my band's site are done with passive pickups through a POD 2.0. That was my rig BEFORE I started coming here and learning some things thanks to Andy and James.

Now I am playing an ESP LTD MH 400 NT with an EMG 85 in the bridge and it sounds like this:

This is just a rough pre-production idea of a new song idea, but this is the guitar tone that will likely end up on the final album.

Wow, this stuff is badass! Turn up your lead guitar though! Killer tone and excellent playing!

Hell yeah!!! Your playing is AWESOME!!! :OMG:

I just bought a PodXT (two days ago) and a little tweaking got me some killer sounds already! Soon I'm looking forward to place a stompbox in front just to hear the difference that it makes. :D

Thanks Fabbio! You'll have lots of fun with it, PodXT is good old fashioned family entertainment!

Hehehe...

I can only WISH a family of guitar playing maniacs....

...unfortunately I HAVE TO keep it quiet in a small apartment using earphones when the only thing I would like to do is crank a Mesa Boogie double rectifier to 10 and let the windows glass SHATTER!!!!

I'm havi a lot of fun experimenting with the PodXT, though, just downloaded the 2.0 version and the separate Compression from the Gate it's a niiiiice plus!!!

Keep it in the family,

Fabbbio

Hi!

I just downloaded from your forum the tone for this lead sound! I will try it later!

There is a trick to download even your skills in playing such good leads? :D

Fabbio,
The lead tone/patch need some overdrive from a stompbox to sound good. And to answer your quetstion, Yes... all my skills are in that patch, so everyone sounds like that when they're playing

What kind of EQ (if any) are you using with the TS and criminal?
