I was messing around with midi in garage band and FINALLY got the hang of it. I threw this metal intro thing together. 3 tracks of PodXT and some verb on the EZ Drummer track. Let me know what you think:

The guitars sound extremely raw compared to the "polished" sound of the drums, lol. It's usually the other way around with samples...unless they both are really clean and polished sounding...anyway.

Hey thanks for listening...Yeah, I am just a newb in the recording world and am only getting used to Garage Band at this point. The patch I used was a boosted Engl type deal. It has the most balls out of other patches I've made, so I think I might stick with it. It is very raw sounding though as you mentioned, (typical characteristic of the Powerball anyway!!). I really have no clue as to what are some standard EQ plugins or techniques for our type of metal, or what you guys use. Any reccomendations?? thanks a lot!
