He's staying with his friend in Rego Park, Queens.

I was unaware that Hell's Kitchen wasn't "real."

what what ... rego park ????? ... I live right fucking there ... literally ... i can walk there.

fuck ... I am still shot ... totally ... my body is aching like crap ... and really still cannot drink so I am out tonight also dammit.

what are these guys into? ... take them to the village ...
the City has become so cleaned up, I really don't know any cool down and dirty rock joints anymore ... Brooklyn has a shitload ...

dude, there is this joint in Brooklyn, foot of the Williamsburgh Bridge, called BEMBE ... man ... small joint ... always packed to the rafters ... beautiful girls, world music ONLY ... but I think you guys can appreciate this stuff ... super friendly people there all the time and killer vibe always ...
cheap drinks ... and you can even smoke and whatnot in the basement ...

Fun night...

Got to Mark's at 9:20. I asked Mark if he would show me his very large... CD collection. Got to the city in no time. Hung out at the bar and pounded a few Guinness' before Nemtheanga and friend arrove at 10:45. Mark's "friend" Kerry and her friend Leslie arrove shortly thereafter.

Alan is a very cool guy. Very approachable, very bright, very political. We chatted about all things Primordial, Metal, touring, Bathory and a lot about politics.

At about 4:30AM we headed to Kerry's place to crash (thank goat, no one was capable of operating a motor vechicle). The wife and I slept in the warmest room on the planet. At 9:30AM it occured to Mark that when you park in a spot, with a sign in front of it reads, "Parking only allowed between 7PM and 7AM", it's probably wise to pick up your car before 10AM. Sure enough, Mark's car was towed. Got to see the city impound. I'm willing to be Hell isn't as depressing looking. We also got pulled over on on our way back to Mark's house. Apparently, it's illegal to drive the speed of light in a 55 MPH zone.

Got home this AM at 11:30, after getting maybe a total of 2 hours sleep. Finally crashed out at 2PM, slept till 6PM and just now ate breakfast. Good times.

nice writeup ... amazing how quiet gugs has been all day ... now I know why

man oh man ... hahahah

Ha ha, good write-up Zodster. Alan says "take care, mate" btw.

So last night wasn't anywhere near as exciting, but still pretty cool. I was DEAD tired, tried to weasel my way out of hanging out, but Alan & his buddy would have none of it. Got into the city by about 10 PM or so, met them at some cool bar in Tribeca, called m1-5 (check it at www.m1-5.com ) - began pounding drinks again, though this time I just stuck to the beers. By midnight, there was a hip-hop party about to begin, so Alan said, and I quote "We need to get the fuck out of here before I kill someone."

Decided that we'd just head back to Queens to hang at his buddy's place, stayed up until 4 AMish pounding beers & headbanging to all sorts of cool shit (apparently Alan DJs in his spare time). By the time I had drunk my 14th beer of the night, I was passing out sitting upright and spilling beer on myself, Alan suggested I go to sleep. I asked, "aren't you drunk?"

"No, not even close." Mind you, I could no longer see. Heh, Irish.

Being the awfully nice bloke that I am, I offered Alan a ride to his flight (out of NJ this evening), so he came back to my place to chill out for the day. Went out to eat, listened to lots of cool metal (he loved Gojira, btw, and to be honest, it kicked my dick in as well), watched soccer (what?!) and then that was that. He's a fucking killer dude, very down-to-earth and fun to just talk shit with.

Anyway, here's just a couple pics, b/c I know lurch wanted "proof." ;)

Alan, chilling on my couch (reading Stuff Magazine, no less)

awesome dude ... sounds good ... of course taking a creepy pic of him reading Maxim was ok by you ... but taking one of the gang in a bar was too weird

fucker ... left my cell in the car last night ... and got your message this afternoon ...

I would write that you should have called me if you were in Rego Park but my cell was in the car anyway ... pfff

Gugs, you will make the thanks list on the next disc for sure :kickass:

i want it and also the grey primordial shirt. i cant find SHIT anywhere. i'll have to fucken mail them or something.

email Alan directly ---> nemtheanga AT hotmail.com

I told him all about you Erik, nothing gay, just that you're in a cool band, were from Umea, and really dug Primordial. You should definitely say hello, he'll know who you are at this point.

Holy Canoli, the Primordial stories over the last week have been so cool. I mean, fucking RC contingent gets into everything like the rats we are!

We'll probably have Gene Simmons turning up to RC fest just to see what all the fuss is about with this "Royal Carnage" crew.

I love the "Sons of Morrigan" quote on the shirt -- it's the same quote that's on the shirt I bought last week. Poetry man, just poetry.

this thread could be used as another ... why NYC is the best place to live thread ... I mean ... cool band people just don't spend weekend in Ludlow, Wisconsin :loco:

Nemtheanga and I spent 2 days arguing about whether or not NYC is "the greatest"

Sample argument:

me: "New York City is the greatest city in the world"
Nemtheanga: "Right, how many cities in the world have you been to?"
me: "um, none?"
Nemtheanga: "Right then."

Repeat ad nauseum
