I'm enjoying Eye of the enemy - Weight of redemption super tight guitar tone, Exodus guitars done by Andy are great too. What are your favorite ones?

The Kemper preset Ola did modeled after the Kolossus tone from Meshuggah. It was so damn tight, I had to calm down the pre-eq in order to hear anything but pick attack when using it with a 6 string.

Oh hell yeah man! The trem pick break in the first track.....gives me a boner every single time. I was actually wondering what amp was used, thought it was Marshall of some sort but Triaxis makes sense.

Woah, lots more Oz content in this thread than expected.

I've been listening to the new Eye of the Enemy pre-production material, and there's more super tight riffing to come.

Vogg has to be one of my favourite 'tight' rhythm guitarists:

Came here to post this. It's 100% down to the player and the Triaxis they used for the amp but oh MAN those palm mutes are tight.

+1. most amps can sound "tight" it is mostly up to the player. Gary Holt is a good example.. no matter what amp he plays or how bad the production is he always get a really tight and crunchy tone.

that Psycroptic album is sick btw :kickass:

Jon Schaffer it´s probably one of the most tight players ever.

Nile = Loose and massive.

Three of my favorite tight tones

The tightest though would be Meshuggah no question.

I'm sorry, but Nile is never what I'd even remotely describe tight.

woa really?

maybe my definition of tight is wrong or I'm lacking ear to discern tight playing.
I won't question your ability to hear tightness, tough.

those who think NILE is not tight, could you elaborate what makes you think that? I'd love to learn.
are we talking tight playing in terms of timing, evenness of dynamics or arrangement/riffs?
