Yes, that tone that makes you headbang in an instant, make you stand up in attention. That tone that feels like a jackhammer is ramming into your skull everytime that guitar is being played, whenever a riff comes roaring through your ears, whenever a string is being strummed!!!!!! People, tell me those albums with those tones.

Black Sabbath-Master Of Reality A very, fat, fuzzy, EVIL tone. One of the heaviest ever.

I'm with you brother, that is the ultimate sound of metal in my head. To bad they lost the sound after that album. AJFA was ok at the time but listening to it now it's thin as shit!

Lynch's sound on Under Lock And Key is also a favorite of mine.

Bryant! I'm with you on Accept. Forgot to mention them. Here's a cool sidenote for you....WOLF HOFFMAN has his own website. (you may or may not know that) but anyway, he's doing photography now in Nashville TN and you can email him on his site. I busted him an email telling him what great sounds I thought he got on METAL HEART and he replied telling me what eq to use, etc. to duplicate it. I emailed him a couple other times on just silly stuff and he always writes back! I forget his site address (i think it's wolfhoffman.com though) but go to www.metal-sludge.com and click on the "20 Questions" link and there's a 20questions with Wolf. He gives his site address there. Check it out!
