I don't think it matters if what you buy is new or used, unless you're anal about condition or something. Frankly, if I had a choice I'd buy all my CD's used, that way I can buy more at cheaper prices.

Actually "Thrash" itself as a term refers more to the hardcore punk scene, which is why the term "Thrash Metal" has to be specified. tbh.
