"If you missed this piece of classic Norwegian black metal the first time around, this domestic reissue for North America presents the 1996 original in all its darkened, sinister glory"

no clue.

edit: its the old one. doesnt have the new updated cover thing that I saw on DimmuBorgir.balls

^ Which do you like better, Zephyrus, original or re-recording? Because I tend to enjoy the new version more.

I haven't heard the old version yet, but I'm a sucker for top-notch production jobs (especially Peter Tagtgren's). The new version imo still retains a powerful atmosphere combined with the thundrous drumming and wall-of-sound guitars. Some reviews said that the synths were drowned out by the guitars, but to me it works to the advantage of the atmosphere, without a powerful synth section to belittle the enormous guitar wall.

I'm hoping this re-recording will inspire Dimmu Borgir's next album. Death Cult Armaggedon had its moments, but an ego-trip back to the basics might influence a more back-to-the-roots direction.

^ As am I, especially on Stormblast, because the production on the original was just plain crappy. The boosted production makes the album infinitely more enjoyable; it's almost like an entirely new experience. I wouldn't really recommend buying the old one unless you're interested in hearing what classic DB sounds like or enjoy low-quality black metal like I sometimes do. There are also more piano solos on the old one.

I agree. DCA was a solid album, but it sounded too forced somehow.

Hey Douchebag The Greys, Is Amok worth a blind purchase? I found it for 8 bucks. Don't go all Sentenced is great on me though. Is it like North From Here at all?

3-Way Thrash VHS (Candlemass, Dark Angel, D.A.M.)

I got this Video too, along with Hard Und Heavy (not porn) "Thrash Special" from about 1989 (though most of it is about the Florida DM scene, early Iced Earth playing (in a garage), and an amusing look at early Pantera (Anselmo) footage.

Candlemass rock on that vid, as do Dark Angel - D.A.M. ? Meh
