Hows it going people! We are new to the scene, we just started playing shows, we want to record better but for now its just us recording through almost decent mics and our drummer with protools.
I am about to redo the vocals and we are also recording new songs. Let me know what you think and what needs improvement. On a side note, I hate the reverb effect, I feel it was used too many times.

I have been making music for the past 2 years. I did not really understand what mixing and mastering was. i just made it sound right and i put a giant limiter on the track. i made about 4 songs this way.

here is one of them - https://soundcloud.com/paulsrecordings/juney-updated-7142013wav

For the past year ive been trying to make it sound as close to professional as possible. I think tonight i got as close as ive ever gotten. Can someone comment on this? i cant tell if its good or not.

here is my best track yet. its not a song, just a test - https://soundcloud.com/paulsrecordings/ps-album-tone-updated

Most bands have their guitars high in upper frequencies but i tend to cut there. i like the bass to dominate the track. check out my stuff to see what i mean and give me criticism.

also, i am doing everything with sony mdr 7506 headphones and everything sounds great, but when i switch over to apple headphones it sounds dull and empty. where as other bands sounds great. i just think some songs hurt my ears with the volume up. i like when i can turn the volume up all the way and it doesn't hurt at all. i have a feeling this is the wrong way to do it because i can never get my tracks to sound as loud as the pros.

hi guys new on here. new band just starting gigging. been 5 years since i gigged til now!

We are some sort of bastard hybrid crossover of melodeath, low end chunk, stoner and the odd atmospheric/epic part.

this is a live recording we did at practice. its tight. could be clearer since we just hooked up mics and jammed. sounds pretty brutal though. Hitting the studio for real in next cpl months so this is my last chance to get any feedback!

when recording for real we'll be using triggered kick and a guitar sound a mix of a jet city , a randall cyclone and a 5150. hopefully get some good low end too as the bass is really prominent live.

cheers guys
