Post your raw Mesa Dual/Triple red tones here

I need an idea of how to get a decent sound raw out of this thing, all I'm getting is fizz.

You pretty much gotta learn to love and embrace the fizz as "aggressive sizzle"...or sell it But nah, it depends on the model (2 ch, 3 ch, Dual, Triple); I actually find I prefer clips of the Triple over the Dual; the Triple always sounds punchier and the fizz slightly less blatant to me.

My theory is it's because the power amp actually plays a pretty large role in the tone of the red channel, cuz in most amps, the power amp supplies negative feedback to the preamp (I don't really know what that means tbh, except that it subdues the highs/fizz significantly ), but in Modern Red, the Recto's power amp doesn't supply the negative feedback; instead, the pre-amp out is low-passed (hence why impulses made with the power amp of a Recto in modern red are fizz/buzz-city).

Trust me, I've been an on-off Rectifier fan for a while. My favorite productions are mesa tones! I just want to hear some raw clips because I can't seem to fit 'em in the mix.

I used to own a Recto about a year and a half ago. I'll be the first to say that this is not an example of great Recto tone, but it's one of the only remaining recordings from that period that I can find now.

Here are two different ones. The first one is Triple Recto(boosted with a broken TS7), I don't have the raw guitar tracks at home. There is absolutely no processing on the guitars though:

The tone of the recto amplifier is said to be very dependent on recording volume. I am not sure if this correct, but my theory is that when the power amp is very loud, the low end and the high end is attenuated more and you get a mid centric sound with less fizz and less boom.

the negative feedback that you mentioned functions on all recto models? dual, triple, 2000 series etc? (just talking about red modern channel)

I think I dislike the recto more and more each day. My other guitarist has a 3 channel triple and it is almost impossible to get a good sound from it, even with a ts9 in front. I find it fizzy and boomy at the same time, as well as loose. Anyone have any experience on putting el34's in there? Maybe this will help the amp sound tighter.

The 'fizz' is a characteristic thing for the recto, if your mix/ band style doesn't really benefit from it, then don't use it if you can. I just did a mix recently where the 5150 was the go to, it was sitting pretty nice, but the band was kinda groovy thrash so last minute I tried the recto for fun and BAM all the life of the riffs just came out so much better. So yeah, it's very YES or very NO with the recto when using it.

Yeah the Recto either REALLY doesn't work or REALLY does. Most times it REALLY REALLY doesn't (I've never kept it on a final mix, in favor of other amps).

The EL-34s will tighten it up significantly, but won't help with the clarity and fizz.

I cannot stand 3 channels. I managed to get the last 3 Channel Dual Recto I had to sound decent with KT-77s in the power amp, but it was still ridiculously muddy, or severely under-gained. There was no middle ground.

Seriously, the 2 channels are so much better, it's not even funny.

Welp, I acquired my 3 channel and I actually really like it, lol. The high end from the Rec's seem a bit "separated" from the rest of the EQ if that makes any sense, but I'm digging it. Who knows, if I end up disliking it again I'll trade it for a 6505+ again or something.

We have a single Recto at the place I work on and I cannot get an usable tone for ANYTHING. I guess I am just not a recto guy..
