You need to come to Europe if the American metalheads are being complete assholes to you. There are many, many metalheads here whose primary basis of choosing the right mate depends on his/her taste in music and compatability with the metal lifestyle, i.e., going to concerts, playing with their band, etc. People aren't ashamed of being metalheads here. There aren't any cliques. Well, there are but everyone hangs out with everyone else...there is no "popularity" bullshit here. If you're a nice person and not a complete douchebag, you'll meet tons of friends and have a wonderful time.

Karen can tell you all about European metalheads as well, I'm sure. I think we Americans still have this notion that you have to be a badass to be a metalhead, and it's not true. I think sometimes we almost try to follow a cliche when we don't have to. Just don't be a dick, that's my philosophy.

I actually, agree with you 100%.
To be a "metalhead" is normal in Europe, and one can get a job without cutting his hair and society doesn't look at them differently, which brings the natural growth in music popularity.

However, There are some awesome metal heads here too, and Izabel does live in one of the best cities for it.
I think the main problem here, (and goatness, I do not mean to rise this issue , I swear) is her young age....
The ratio of girls and guys in the metal scene is rediculous!!! One will pass 21 and will find herself having guys all over her and very little competition.
Granted, if the guys she will be interested in, will not be assholes who fall for the "groupie slut" type (and sadly there are A LOT of groupie sluts out there)

I look for a nice, pretty girl who is honest, laid back and who takes the time to understand why sometimes people act strangely instead of judging right away while expecting to be automatically forgiven herself whenever she does something wrong.

For me, metal chickitude is not a requisite, but it's definitely a plus. You're just hanging out with the wrong guys if they judge you based on your music (which is more awesome than they crap they probably listen to.

A lot of not metalheads love metal chicks too (ok we’re not talking about fanatic bitches wearing corpse paints everyday and fuck the cross)… A lot of my non metal friends would be with a metal chick because they simply like the style and a lot of them would just be with an intelligent and beautiful girl who can be a metal chick or whatever. Choosing a partner is not about metal or at list it shouldn’t be. There is so much more than this that can connect two people. It’s of course nice to have someone to go to the show with but not having one is just a minor problem that can be compromised…
